Levanto in Italy is the best place to spend your holiday: is situated on the italian riviera, really close to Monterosso and the 5 terre.

Levanto is visited annually by thousands of tourists from all over the world come to stay in the village, but also to visit the adjacent National Park of 5 Terre, which offers great attractions even for those who love trekking.
The Cinque Terre are easily reach from Levanto by train (during the summer, the rail service is enhanced with shuttle trains), or by ferry.

How to reach Levanto

The easiest way to get to Levanto is by train.
A local service connects all the villages of Cinque terre, including Levanto.
Otherwise trains run frequently to Levanto from the most important cities passing by Pisa, Parma and Genoa.
A valid alternative to reach Levanto is to use car.
You can reach Levanto from la Spezia passing through Pignone, or taking highway A12, from Genoa to Livorno, and exiting in Carrodano-Levanto.
The only town of cinque terre with a lot of parking is Levanto.
An other choice to came to Levanto is using a ferryboat service. It operates from the beginning of April to the end of October, stopping at each of the villages of Cinque Terre, and come also in Levanto.

Enjoying a partcularly mild climate, from Levanto it's easy to visit the fascinating ports of the Cinque Terre, either by train, by sea or hiking.

Things to see in Levanto

In Levanto you can see the castle (13th century) and the city walls remain; the remains of the Medieval Castle in Celasco, very close to the city center of Levanto; the Churches of S.Andrea (1226), of Our Lord of the coast (11th - 14th c.), of S. Nicolò from Chiesanuova (11th c.), of S. Siro, in Montale, (11th c.), S. Giacomo's (16th c), Annunziata's along with its Convent (15th c.), the medieval Loggia (13th c.): the Da Passano Villia (17tK -C.); other very interesting ancient palaces: according to the tradition, the King’s palace was built by the longobard Liutprando.

Levanto is surrounded by at least 16 little villages built in Medieval Era where you can find remains of the 30 Mills used in order to make the famous Olive Oil.

Festa di San Giacomo in Levanto
Festival of the Sea 24-25 July.
Generally it is celebrated with an exhibition and performances at the Village and Town Group Valley of Levanto and finally in the evening around midnight, the festival concludes with a fireworks display and the Group Valley Historical Village and that is a procession, where flag-wavers, musicians, ladies, knights and maids parade behind the statue of San Giacomo.
